The Opportunity: The Safety and Risk Administrator actively participates as a member of the Safety, Housing and Risk management team assisting and supporting all aspects of the duties of the Director, Safety, Housing and Risk. The incumbent will help to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Safety, Housing and Risk office including compiling and maintaining the official records of the College, preparing documentation, and administering the College's insurance contracts and AGCO and Lottery licenses.  The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting initiatives related to the Ministry of Labour and the Joint Health and Safety Committee and developing appropriate and related student and staff content for Sault College’s Learning Management Systems (LMS).


The incumbent is expected to take initiative to ensure that staff and student needs are met in an efficient and courteous manner by responding on behalf of the Director, Safety, Housing and Risk. 

What you need to be successful:

  • Three-year diploma/degree in Business Administration or Office Administration
  • OMDP considered an asset
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of insurance and AGCO licensing
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret a range of legislation, policies, and collective agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders such as employees and external contacts
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work independently, establish appropriate priorities, and multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


Sault College provides an attractive total compensation package, encompassing competitive wages/salaries, a defined benefit pension plan, group insurance benefits, and a variety of employee perks. This is a full-time administrative position. Salary range is $66,909 to $83,635 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
